Chapters 38-39. A mythical enemy called Gog shows up. Gog rallies a massive coalition of God's enemies for an epic battle. God lands in thunderous fury. Wait, has this happened already? Is this an end-times battle? Or is this symbolic of every battle? Is it Armageddon? Does it matter? How does Gog and Magog have any relevance to my life?

Chapter 37. God takes Ezekiel into a valley of dry bones. Ezekiel doesn't know that he's in a famous scene. But God does. Ezekiel commands the bones to come alive and God breathes on them. Epic army scene. But who is this army and what have they got to do with us today living in the middle of a pandemic? And what does this say about the future?

Chapter 36. God says He will give His flock a new heart and a new spirit. This new heart will enjoy obeying Him, and God promises to love them forever. But wait, I remember being told that the God of the Old Testament is angry and rule-based. These two pictures don't jive. Which is it?

Chapter 35. The people of Edom taunt Israel as they are sieged by Babylon, licking their lips and waiting to devour the land in Israel's absence. God shows up and serves Edom its notice for all of its trashtalking. What has all that got to do with us today, in a distant, unrelated land? Well...you have to find out from this sermon podcast!

(Still) Chapter 34. God makes a covenant with the sheep of Israel: I will be your God, you will be my sheep. I will banish all that threatens you and you shall eat well and lie down safely, even in wild place. Israel said YES. And they lived happily ever after. Actually, NO. They didn't.

Chapter 34. God gives the shepherds of Israel a torrential tongue-lashing. Where had they gone wrong? And what can we, as modern-day sheep and shepherds, learn from this?

Chapter 33. God calls Ezekiel to the vocation of a Watchman. What does that mean for him, and subsequently for us? How does God's prophetic word help us live out faithful and abundant lives?

The final fifteen chapters of Ezekiel are full of intrigue, mystery, meaning and power. And most of all, relevant and important to how we live today in view of tomorrow. Yet, a million questions arise as we tackle these difficult chapters: are they literal or figurative? Have the prophecies been fulfilled or are they to come?
