Psssst, church. Stay awake! Jesus calls us to be watchful, ready and attentive. We cannot sleepwalk our way through the most turbulent days of our lives. So let's ditch the snooze, rise to our feet and don't go back to sleep.

When God speaks, we reply. When God decrees, we fall in line. What has God commanded? For us to take spiritual territory, to wrest our nation and people from demonic powers and bring to our land an alignment with God's plan.

If God spoke to us today, would we have ears to hear it? Some people seem to hear what God is saying while the rest of us wonder why He is silent but God always initiates, and He is indeed speaking. And since He opens the conversation, we should take heed and reply.

God has full, absolute rule: yes. God has appointed the church to take spiritual authority over what happens to our people and land: yes. But what if we squander this high calling with petty low living? Church, take heed: don't surrender your spiritual authority.

This season, we begin a new pulpit series to convey key things the Lord wants His church to take heed in these exceptional times. And the first is this; Church, it's time to think like the persecuted church!

Are our normal church practices disrupted? Yes. But should we wither because of it? Certainly not. Let us be inspired by thousands of persecuted Christians throughout the world whose faith burn brighter whenever the night gets darker.

Friday-Saturday-Sunday Death-Despair-Resurrection On the third day, Jesus rose from the dead. When the earliest disciples discovered this, they ran. They ran to tell the rest. We are also running with Jesus to bear witness to the truth that Jesus is alive, and death no longer deserves to be in play.

"I am the vine, " Jesus said to his disciples. "And you are the branches." How shall we thrive or stay alive? "Remain in Me," Jesus repeats. This is the final of our Lord's seven " I AMs". And He saved the most tender one for the last.
