Genesis chapter 23. Years pass. Sarah dies. Abraham sees his own end drawing near. Now, how many of God's promises have come to pass to date? Will he ever stop sojourning and settle in a land to call his own? He finds a bride for Isaac, for the continuation of God's promise. What the old man dreamt of, this young man must now envision. And this goes down all his descendants, until one of the sons of Abraham, Lion of Judah, Root of Jesse, Son of David is born in Bethlehem. Finally, all of God's promises to Abraham are yes and Amen in this son.
