Finally, we get to the allegorical reading of Song of Solomon. Through this lens, the Song is ultimately talking about the love that Christ and the Church have for each other. Which leaves us with the big question — how can we foster a love for Jesus as deep and hungry as the one depicted here in Songs? Find out more from the closing of our Song of Solomon series.

At its very essence, Song of Solomon is about a longing to be loved. This forms the core of every single one of us, and it animates us daily in all sorts of ways. Adjacent to this is our need for love to be faithful and reciprocated. But is this only about romantic love? Or is it bigger? Deeper? More transcendent? We tap into this longing.

Song of Solomon, what a book! Perhaps the most avoided, most misunderstood book of the Bible. What is it, actually? Some say ancient erotic literature while others say an allegory of God’s love. We begin these two weeks study by looking at Songs as a portrait of intimacy, love and sexual stewardship in the first of two parts: Woman X Man Love.
